Welcome! Touring England is an interactive site. We offer you useful information to help you plan your trip to England but at the same time, members can contribute by submitting, suggesting, recommending sites that they’ve been to and are not yet included in this site. We don’t know everything, you know! Any valuable information you have for us will be greatly appreciated. This is how you do it: 1. Register and validate membership. 2. If you’re already registered, log in. 3. Go to Places to Visit / Places to Stay. 4. Fill out the form. Input all the information you know, as much as you can so we can provide all the juicy bits. Don’t worry if you can’t, we’ll finish up for you. Here are some of the suggested bits that you need at hand: - Title - Name of the Place
- Address – street, city, post code, county and country (no need to supply everything, only the postcode and city are required)
- Click on Fetch Coordinates so we can plot it in our map. If it doesn't get the coordinates, you can enter it manually or Click Here to search the coordinates by postcode.
- Phone number
- Organization - i.e. National Trust
- Description
- Short Description
You can also enter the Email, Website, Contact Person, Phone and Fax. They are not required but the more information, the better. you can disregard the Meta Keyword and Meta Description boxes. 5. Upload Photos Click on Browse button, select the image you wish to upload, press open and finally press the 'Upload' button. If you've selected a valid file, the image will be uploaded otherwise there will be an alert message.
You can upload up to 10 images. 6. Select Categories you will be presented with a list of Regions. Click on the region where the place belongs to and then press the '>>>' button. Press the '+' sign beside the name of the region, wait a few seconds and you will be presented with a list of counties. Select a county and then press the '>>>'.
If you want to remove a category from the list of selected categories, just press '<<<'. 7. Submit the form Accept the terms and conditions and then click on the 'Send' button at the bottom of the page.
You won’t see your entries right away as the administrators will need to review the information submitted, supply the missing pieces of the puzzle (check for pornography.. kidding!). After a few hours, you may come back and bask in the glory of having shared valuable information to locals and tourists alike. Remember, it’s always better to contribute than to receive!
